My 5 favourite Red lipsticks to be worn this Winter.

Updated: Jan 2, 2018

Hey, so its been a while since I posted a makeup blog, so here is my winter lipstick winners.

Top of my list has to be of course the most popular Mac Ruby Woo. How it stays so cool with every one obsessing over its perfect formula and intense passion, is beyond me. This was one of the first red lipsticks I ever purchased and i'm pleased i'v never looked back. Ruby woo is a girls best friend. The Retro Matte is the perfect choice to take you from day to night. Its matte look and vibrant shade will always be in fashion, its a must have classic that will always be on my xmas list. Its combination of red with little flutter of blue is perfect for all skin tones, all you need is a few swipes of this shade on your luscious lips and you will be smiling as the perfect ice queen this winter.

Team it with:

Nothing everything bout this lipstick is perfect I would let this stunner stand alone.

Wear it with:

Every way you can this classic is an experimental wonder that can be worn however you desire.

NYX Siren. This dark moody red brings out the darker side of xmas, with its cool smouldering tones and hint of black to create the dark wintery mood. This Matte lipstick is surprisingly more silky soft that it leads you to believe. Its the darkest shade of these reds and has no problem standing out from the crowd. This Black berry tough exterior slightly softening with its metallic hints of purple help make this bold shade easily versatile. Its thick pigment will darken dry areas of the lips with high intensity so make sure you exfoliate before this application so not to show any weakness in this strong statement colour. This is a must have to wear to business meeting with its sense of power or I could imagine sipping a large dark glass of red, while I plot my next move.

Team it with: Kikos 3D instant Volume lip gloss, apply with a touch of gloss to the middle of there upper and lower lips.

Wear it with: I would wear it with a jumpsuit or a shirt dress, with my hair in a high bun or tight sleek pony.

NYX bloody Mary. This is NYX freshest shade by far. If the colour red could be described as pretty this colour is certainly it. Its pinky red hues are deeply blended with hints of blue to create the coolest shade out of them all. This is by far my favourite lip teaser of the collection. Its the coolest of the coolest lip colours I have found and stands out by far. The blue reacts so perfectly with this raspberry red and creates and illusion of snow white teeth, like a little drop of blood in snow. This is a general allrounder that suits every mood, with party season in full swing we could all do with this little pick me up in the morning.

Team it with:

NYX Lipliner pencil in Plush Red for the ultimate perfect pout.

Wear it with:

I would wear it either with a floaty dress and bouncy hair, to help you flirt your way to the bar.

Velvet passion 312 is vey certainly velvety smooth. This light texture layers up nicely to create yet another cool tone of lipstick. There must be a theme here. This bright berry red is a very strong contender to Macs Ruby woo. It has slightly more pink tones with similar blue hues to NYX Bloody Mary. Kiko have definitely done their research in creating this little formula that is pretty much perfect in every way. This will definitely lighten up your xmas season on a dull dark day. Its so easy and versatile to work with and the perfect product to take you from the a day at the office to the office party.

Team it with:

Vaseline for a gentile boost to help moisturise and add a subtle gloss without being to obvious, to make those lips even more kissable.

Wear it with:

This is an easy shade that can be work with a jeans and jumper or the glittery party dress, wear your hair fun and flirty or a braided up do. Mac D is for Danger. Throw some coal on the fire with this ashier red. Another one of Macs perfect formulas, this matte pigment rich colour is not as dangerous as its name and glides on effortlessly, with its dark berry tones and smooth texture. This rich dark colour, is one of the most versitile darks shades, its little bit of moody is timeless and perfect for any winter wardrobe. But be warned its a Dirty red with a hardened exterior, that could quite possibly leave you on Santa's naughty list.

Team it with:

Mac Pro long Wear lip liner in Dark Out. This deep dark pencil will keep this lipstick working between the lines.

Wear it with:

I would layer it on for a power meeting or with my hair wore high at a glamorous Christmas ball

If none of these are in your make up bag then make sure you put them on your xmas list. If your a good who knows, santa might just bring you them all.
